Grand Hyatt's Poolhouse

2,350 SQFT, Hospitality, Hong Kong

By introducing timber as a new material to the Poolhouse, Stanley KC used this to complement John Morford’s geometric design for the elegant space. The aim was to create a softly light space, integrating the indoors and outdoors, complementing the new design while respecting Morford’s original vision. The main elements brought to life were three fold: to introduce a new material throughout the space, to apply a signature pattern and imbue a complementary effect with the right lighting design. As Morford had used many different sizes of metal grid in his design, the designers adopted this language and further applied it in their design. Following extensive renovations by Stanley KC’s team with its elevated facilities, this semi-outdoor venue is the ideal space for everything from pool parties, summer weddings to casual cocktails.
