Let's Talk About Art

Designers often get their inspiration from a large range of influences and art is a major force. During the recent art week, Stanley KC’s team perused the exciting collections on show at Art Basel, and shared their thoughts. Reveals Stanley Kwok, founder of Stanley KC, “I love to look at the details, the technique, textures and layers of artwork rather than just the overall image. This is similar to my own design work, where I spend a lot of time on the fine details. Sometimes, it’s too much. Overall, I like artwork that is very graphic, the lines and grid… I guess this is from my architectural background.” As for his favourite art pieces? “I’m very drawn to the HK Dollar Notes artwork by Carlos Aires, where the cutouts are actually song lyrics,” Stanley shares, “The attention to detail is really fantastic.”
